General FAQ

Products

Yes, all our matcha products from Shimane, Japan are halal certified by the Japan Islamic Trust (JIT), an esteemed halal certifying body recognized by JAKIM. This ensures our matcha meets strict halal standards, giving you complete peace of mind.

Our teas don’t have a strict expiration date, but for the best flavor and aroma, we recommend consuming them soon after opening, ideally within about 1 month, or as indicated on the shelf life section of the package.

When you’re ready to use your tea, take it out of the fridge or freezer and let it rest at room temperature for about an hour (This allows it to adjust and prevents condensation). After that, open and enjoy as usual.

Once opened, avoid returning the tea to the freezer. Simply store it sealed at room temperature and use it regularly to enjoy its freshest taste.

To keep your tea at its best, store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, heat, humidity, and strong odors. Room temperature is perfectly fine.

For best results, after each use, roll up the bag tightly, clip it closed, and store it either on its own or inside its can.

For matcha cans: if you’re a frequent matcha drinker (typically finishing it within about 2 weeks), you can pour the powder directly into the can for easy access. Otherwise, we suggest keeping the powder sealed in its bag and storing that inside the can for extra protection.

Each chasen is carefully handcrafted from bamboo, so it naturally has a limited lifespan. You’ll know it’s time to replace your chasen if you notice many of the tips are broken, if it becomes difficult to whisk your matcha to a smooth froth, or if there are any signs of mold.

Taking good care of your chasen, by rinsing it with water and allowing it to air dry properly will help it last as long as possible.

It’s perfectly normal for a chasen to develop small cracks in the handle over time, sometimes even before you start using it. Bamboo naturally expands and contracts with changes in humidity, which can cause these cracks.

Rest assured, they won’t affect the performance of your whisk, and you can continue using it as usual.
